The position requires a strong focus on leave analytics & metrics, leave trends & duration, auditing and ongoing reporting throughout the organization. The role requires the ability to analyze, evaluate and design processes that meet federal, state and legal business requirements. The Leave Analyst assists colleagues with the overall leave process including requests for leave inquiries, PTO, benefit deductions and other leave related issues that arise, as well as ongoing education regarding the leave process and applicable laws.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Interprets and administers leave policies within the framework of applicable federal and state regulations including ensuring the duration of leaves align with current laws and policies.
- Provides analytic and colleague support regarding leaves and the intersection of leaves and disability issues with PFML, FMLA, PTO and other laws, statues, regulations and system policies.
- Participates in ongoing communication with our outside vendor, Employee Health, Payroll, department managers and impacted colleagues on current and future leaves.
- Manages all aspects of payroll in relation to benefits arrears, PTO, MST and other leave related items that impact payroll.
- Coordinates with the HR team and others to ensure legally compliant, best practice leave and disability policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with Employee Health regarding potential for light duty and return to work options.
- Creates routine and adhoc reports that provide leave metrics, including leave status, duration and trends.
- Produces monthly STD and LTD billing/budgeting reports for CHRO and others as appropriate.
- Presents LOA educational sessions in a clear, concise and professional manner.
- Maintains monthly leave and disability vendor invoicing.
- Processes requests for PTO donations, obtaining appropriate approvals as needed, and enters into the HRIS system timely and accurately.
- Responds to calls and visits from employees, managers and others in a professional and service-oriented fashion.
- Assists with the annual Open Enrollment process as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree
Three to five (3-5) years of experience managing FMLA, Non-FMLA, ADA, STD and LTD claims preferred. Experience with Workday a plus.3
Additional Knowledge and Skills
- Strong computer skills required including the Microsoft suite of tools. Workday experience is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary to communicate effectively with various levels of staff.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills along with attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of Mass Paid Family Leave, FMLA, STD & LTD laws.
- Requires the ability to work within the legal requirements of all leave types.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to handle sensitive information and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced/high volume environment.
